School Closure Meeting

There is a final public meeting tonight concerning the Queensland Downs School closure recommendation. There will be at least two Trustees at this meeting that is designed to hear final words from the members of the affected communities.

Nick and I will be there and according to a story in the Herald, there will be a large number of parents from the QLD school. Everyone who comes to the meeting will have a chance to speak about their school and address the Trustees directly regarding this recommendation.

I would be very helpful to have as many of our parents there as possible.
It would also be hugely beneficial to have you say a word or two about Haultain in a positive light. You don't have to speak for long or say very much but just a point or two concerning Haultain from as many parents as possible would shed a positive light on our school. We aren't trying to be negative regarding QLD or to compare our schools, we would rather showcase the pride we have in Haultain.

Haultain has had very recent experience welcoming a large number of new students into our school and integrating them with care and open arms. Haultain has recently been recognized by the Fraser Institute for academic excellence, we routinely score well above the provincial averages on the PATs, we have a dedicated and engaged volunteer core, our phys ed, music, and art programming is top notch, we have a great and updated technology center, we have a recently upgraded playground, the list goes on and on. If you've been at Haultain for any length of time, you can easily add your own ideas to this list.

The meeting is at Queensland Downs School at 199 Queen Charlotte Way SE at 7:00pm. Please come and help promote our great school.
